Exiting Pisces And Entering Aquarius: Unlocking The Precession Of The Equinox And What It Means For

Jeffrey Carey

"This age is coming to an end, not the world, but the age is ending, listen to the astrological message I'm sending." - KRS-ONE

Luke 22:10 "Behold, when you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water follow him into the house which he enters."

"To everything (turn turn turn) there is a season (turn, turn, turn) and a time to every purpose under heaven." - The Byrds

Amazingly when I first learned about subjects like astrotheology, and the precession of the equinoxes it was not in either private school, or college. Out of all the places one could learn about the arcane, and the occult who would have thought that it would have been through Hip-hop music, but true indeed it was through Hip-hop when I first encountered what I can only describe as very obscure subject matter, and this was as early as 1997.

If my memory serves me correct it was the year 1997, and it was while listening to rap legend, and icon KRS-ONE's album I Got Next on a certain song called Fourth Quarter: Free Throws when I first encountered these teachings that were very much ahead of their time. KRS-ONE was rapping about a subject that seemed strange at the time, but would fit in quite nicely during this current age of Aquarius. What he was rapping about was the multidimensional ways one can read the Bible.

KRS said that if the Bible was read as an allegory then it would then tell the story of the son/sun, and how it travels through the different houses on the zodiac's wheel. Each house on the zodiac's wheel tells a different story of the son/sun, for example when the sun is in the house of Pisces then it is symbolized by the fish, or fishermen. Ask yourself was not Christ and the disciples "fishers of men." Jesus it is said fed the multitude with "two fish." Was this literal or symbolic? When the sun is in the house of Scorpio, or Sagittarius it is about to be betrayed and killed. The Scorpion stings from behind in much the way Judas kisses Christ from behind in French painter, and possible Freemason Thomas Couture's painting Le Baiserde Judas.

After Scorpio/Scorpion and Sagittarius the sun is to later be born again in a stable, or manger when it is in the house of Capicorn during the month of December. Before it was called the house of Capicorn this constellation of stars in the zodiac was known as the Augean Stable. Think about it, what is a manger, but a stable. This was of course the same Augean Stable that Hercules had to clean out, as one of his twelve labors. It also just so happens that Hercules has a lot in common with another strong man none other than the Biblical Samson. I believe that it is more than a coincidence that they both slay lions, and Samson's name when translated actually means sun; therefore, it is no accident that the sun with its twelve signs in the zodiac coincides perfectly with Hercules having to perform exactly twelve labors, and Christ having twelve disciples. It all relates back to the concept of astrotheology, or the story of the sun buried deeply into allegorical stories. It is in the month of December that we also have the Winter Solstice, or the birth of the sun. In fact the solstices and equinoxes intersect in what many in the esoteric community refer to as the cross of the zodiac; therefore, one can say that the sun is crucified on the cross of the zodiac, and then reborn. This is all what KRS-ONE was referring to when he said and I quote "stop believing and read your bible logically, the New Testament is really old astrology." I would only add that this same idea would apply to the Old Testament as well. The 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 brothers of Joseph is all astrological coinciding with the sun passing through the twelve months, or zodiac signs. The celebration of Passover is none other than the sun during the Vernal Equinox passing over the equator.

Its all very interesting because if you harken back to the 70s and 80s when Hip-hop was first being established and even today in certain jazz circles (Marsalis, Crouch) many may struggle to see the value of Hip-hop as art, but my answer to that has always been you are listening to the wrong kind of Hip-hop. One can easily argue that Hip-hop could very easily rival, and even in many ways surpass the great artistic movement known as the Harlem Renaissance. I love the poetry of Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen, Claude McKay and other Harlem Renaissance luminaries, but one can easily find their equivalents, or even superiors in Hip-hop culture. In fact an example of this and the brilliance of what Hip-hop philosopher KRS-ONE was saying is essentially what many lesser known esoteric, and even some conspiracy theorist like Jordan Maxwell, Acharya S, and others have also said. In fact you can even trace KRS-ONE's perspective on this subject all the way back to one of the United States lesser known Founding Fathers Thomas Paine. British born Thomas Paine stated in an article he wrote titled the Origins of Freemasonry:

"The christian religion and Masonry have one and the same common origin: both are derived from the worship of the Sun. The difference between their origin is, that the christian religion is a parody on the worship of the Sun, in which they put a man whom they call Christ, in the place of the Sun, and pay him the same adoration which was originally paid to the Sun"

Mind you this is the same Thomas Paine who wrote the very influential pamphlet titled the Common Sense that essentially was one of the very first intellectual justifications for the American colonist to declare independence from England during the Revolutionary War. It was also the words from Paine's Common Sense that directly influenced Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence. KRS-ONE's song 4th Quarter: Free Throws not only touched on the concept of allegory and astrotheology, but also in my opinion a just as equally interesting concept that many should begin to hear about more often known as the precession of the equinoxes. The precession of the equinoxes has been known by many different ancient civilizations all over the world such as the Egyptians, Greeks, Indians, and Mayans. The Greeks called it the Great Year. The Egyptians called this time Zep Tepi. The Hindus knew it as the Yuga cycle. The Maya referred to these ages as suns. Researcher Walter Cruttenden and the Binary Research Institute have done a fantastic job explaining the meaning of this rather obscured concept known as the precession of the equinoxes below.

Before one even begins to understand what the precession of the equinoxes is one first must come to grip with the fact that the earth goes through three major cycles. The first cycle is the most obvious which is the earth taking 24 hours to do a complete spin, or "turn." This 24 hour cycle can more easily be explained by viewing it as 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness corresponding to day and night. The next major cycle we are all familiar with is the 365 days it takes for the Earth to revolve around the sun, as the Earth revolves around the sun it passes through the 12 monthly constellations of the Zodiac. This revolving of the Earth around the sun also creates the four seasons that we are all familiar with. The next major cycle and the main point of this blog post is what is known as the precession of the equinoxes. Everyone knows that the Earth spins, or wobbles on its axis. It takes roughly 24,000-26,000 years for the Earth to do a complete spin on its axis. It is this very slow wobbly spin that has been known as the precession of the equinoxes.

What is the esoteric meaning for the fish being an early symbol of Christianity? The common answer is that Jesus was a fisher of men, but is there more to the story?

As the Earth spins on its axis it slowly moves retrograde through the 12 major signs of the zodiac, but because this is a very slow movement it takes 2000 years for the Earth to move from one zodiac sign into the next. For the last 2000 years the Earth with the backdrop of the sun viewable during the Spring Equinox was in the zodiac sign of Pisces. It was while we were in the zodiac sign of Pisces that Christianity ruled as the major religious institution. This is why the symbol for early Christianity was the fish. This is also why as KRS-ONE noted that there is so much fish symbolism in the Bible, such as Christ feeding the multitude with two fish, and Christ and his disciples being fishermen, or fishers of men. Also every 2000 years is referred to as an age.

Promotional poster for the movie 2012 completely misrepresented the events to come which mainly deal in astrological concepts. In this poster we see a Tibetan monk high in the Himalayas with giant tidal waves crashing around him, as he patiently awaits Earth's doom. These events couldn't be any further from the truth.

Everyone remembers the Hollywood doomsday movie 2012, and how everyone was waiting for the end of the world to come. The problem with this type of apocalyptic kind of thinking is 2012 came and went, and the world is still here. It makes you wonder what was all the misguided hoopla about? The movie 2012 wrongly interpreted Mayan cosmology. When the ancient Mayan referred to the end of the world or the end of the sun what they were really referring to was the end of an age. The age that was ending was Pisces, and we are now in the next 2000 year age known as the Age of Aquarius. Once again I refer to Hip-Hop legend KRS-ONE when he states:

"Truth is truth, whether or not you like me We are living now in the age of Pisces When Pisces is over, at the year two thousand When the Sun of God changes his house and Enters the Age of Aquarius"

Nubian Pharoah Taharqa reigned during the Age of Aries. Here Taharqa is the ram god Ammon.

Prior to the Age of Pisces one must go back another 2000 years when we were in the Age of Aries. It was at this time when the sign for some major religions was the ram. When you look at ancient Egypt we see that the ram god Ammon was very popular at this time. When Alexander the Great conquered Egypt during the Age of Aries he minted coins with images of himself with ram horns.

It was also during the Age of Aries when we see the birth of Judaism. It is at this exact time when the Jewish priest would blow the rams horn welcoming in the current age. Prior to the Age of Aries we were in the Age of Taurus.

Judaism was born during the Age of Aries that preceded the Age of Pisces. Here we presumably see a Jewish priest blowing the rams horn symbolic of the astrological age.

Moses we are told was mad at his people for worshipping the golden calf, is the golden calf symbolic of the old outdated Age of Taurus being replaced by the new Age of Aries? During the Age of Taurus bull cults would have been popular around the world.

This is a Andrea Celesti painting titled Moses destroying the golden calf 1681. Is this Moses destroying the Age of Taurus to make way for the Age of Aries.

In Crete we see images of the bull everywhere. It is at this time we begin to hear about the legends of the minotaur trapped in a maze or labyrinth on the island of Crete. In the Middle East in Syria we begin to see bull cults centered around the God Mithra. In many statues of Mithra he is killing the bull. This killing of the bull is necessary to make way for the coming Age of Aries which came after the Age of Taurus.

It just so happens that in Syria in the religion of Mithra we see the god Mithra slaying the bull bringing an end to the Age of Taurus and ushering in the new era.

Modern day bullfighting today popular in Spain maybe an ancient carryover of the many ancient bull slaying cults found among Mithra worshippers, and on the island of Crete.

Prior to the rise of ancient Crete and among the bull cult found among the worshippers of Mithra we see that the Bull was very popular in the Nile Valley among the ancient Egyptians who worshipped a bull god known as Apis. Apis was the son of female cow goddess Hathor. In fact Apis was one of the earliest Egyptian animal gods venerated. Of course this is all solar or astrological this is why above Apis head is the solar disk.

There was even an Egyptian running of the bulls ceremony called the running of the Apis bulls this sounds strangely similar to the running of the bulls celebration that takes place in modern day Spain.

This all brings us to our modern era it just so happens that when Christianity was born during the Age of Pisces we were also exiting the Age of Aries. This is why we have two early symbols for Christianity sometimes you see Christ as a lamb which is Aries at other times you see Christ as a fish which is Pisces.

Christ as the son/sun, or also as Aries the Ram/Lamb of god in stained glass.

Christ as the son/sun during the Age of Aries, or as the Lamb of God? From the catacombs of Rome.

This all leads us to where we are now the current Age of Aquarius, and what it may mean for humanity. Some people may fear that as the Age of Pisces comes to an end this may mean an end to their religion that they hold dear. I do not believe this to be the case but you may begin to see some reforms and changes in religious institutions as we currently know it. The best example of this would be Pope Francis. Who would have thought that the day would come that a Catholic Pope would agree with the scientific theory of evolution. Pope Francis is also on record for his very progressive approach toward the LGBT community (calling LGBTs children of God), as well as stating that he believes atheist can also be accepted into Heaven.

Some esoteric historians say that the Age of Pisces dealt with a lot of deception in our institutions, which not only included religious institution, but also our colleges and universities. If Pisces was an age of deception then Aquarius will be an age of unveiling. The day where Western civilization is taught from the standpoint of everything comes out of Greece and Rome will most likely see some revisions. More emphasis will most likely be placed on the major lesser recognized cultural influences coming from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. I mean you did not really believe Archimedes invented his screw, Phidias discovered phi, or that Pythagoras came up with his theorem on his own? Most of these inventions were most likely first discovered in nations that were peopled by what most would today call people of color, only to be later rediscovered by the Greeks and Romans. In the Bible in the Book of Ecclesiastes there is a famous saying that says "there is nothing new under the sun." There is some truth to this. It is also only natural that if we saw suppression of women and feminine energy during the Age of Pisces you will see a rise of women, and the feminine principal during the Age of Aquarius. Remember all the women who were rendered as witches for preaching the same thing as men. And what about the many goddess that were worshipped among the civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Rome? I can recall a time of both the masculine and feminine principal being worshipped equally together in pairs; for example, one need only recall Osiris and Isis, Zeus and Hera, or Jupiter and Juno. During the Age of Pisces these goddesses were replaced by one sole male god, and the priestesses that taught in the temples were replaced by exclusively male pastors, rabbis, and imams during the Piscean Age. The Age of Aquarius is known as an ascending age on the Yuga wheel of enlightment and awareness. Thoughts and ideas that could get you killed during the Age of Pisces (Gnostics, Cathars, Freemasons) can freely be discussed during the Age of Aquarius. Just think we are living now in an age of technology and the internet where all the information is freely at our fingertips.

The Age of Aquarius has in fact already begun. Aquarius symbolically is represented by the water bearer, who pours down his water on all groups equally. In theory racism and unscientific concepts like race, and privileges that unfairly benefited certain groups based on what essentially is a pseudo-science should begin to recede, as we begin to see minority groups, and countries labeled as "Third World" start to feel the benefits of Aquarius water. The idea of a real life African "Wakanda" should not be out of the realm of possibilities during the Aquarian Age. Naturally change will not come easy, especially moving from one age to the next its always hard. I can only imagine how 2000 years from now, as we move from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Capricorn, how they will have to adjust to the challenges that come with transitioning. Today many will still stubbornly continue to cling to the old order of the Piscean Age, especially those not knowledgeable in astrology, or the precession of the equinoxes. Transitioning to the New Age will be very hard for them. Many heterosexual males, especially alpha males, may start to feel a sense of anxiety. They maybe fearful that they are losing power in the Age of Aquarius, but this opinion I can assure you I believe to be wrong. Men will not be losing power, as much as they will now be sharing it. I foresee big changes on the political landscape with more women in the House and Senate, as well as in powerful positions such as Head of State, and this will not just be in the United States, but globally as well. The Age of Aquarius will no doubt be a good time to be a woman, as they will see an increase in opportunity, but it is also a good time to be a man, but only if you can anticipate the age, and the coming changes ahead of us.
